This Thursday...

We're having a Christmas Card Workshop this Thursday! Heather Holdsworth will share tips and insight from her years in design. If you're craft-challenged (like me) I'm sure you'll appreciate Heather's advice. Hope to see you there.

We'll also discuss the chapter - Enrich Your Relationships - from The Fresh Brewed Life.

Pack-n-Play

We are traveling to my sister's for the Thanksgiving holidays. I was wondering if anyone might have a pack and play that I could borrow for 4 month old Reuben. He could sleep on the floor but I thought I would ask around first. We live in Jenkins Hall and I plan to be at Student Wives on Thursday or we can pick up it up.

Thanks.

The Easleys are moving...

In anticipation of our move we have some items we would like to give away:

- A big screen tv…(50”) Silver, sits on its own pedestal…great for the Superbowl!
- White dresser w/ mirror (like for a girl)
- Lawn mower, in good condition, self-propelled

If you are interested email me at cindyeasley@comcast.net and I’ll send you a picture if you desire. The only catch is that you must come move these items yourself, on or before December 15th.

I miss seeing you all!

-- Cindy

The newest Marx...

Yesterday (11/14) we welcomed another son into our family:

Timothy Lukas Marx - Timothy means "To honor God"

He was born at 4:50 a.m., is 20.5 inch long and weighs 7 lb. 3 oz.

It was a very quick delivery and we are glad everything worked out well.

Checks...

For those of you who were in SWF last year, I have somewhat of a strange request again this Christmas! My brother is mentally disabled young man who loves nothing more than checkbooks--that's right, checkbooks! He's been "writing checks" for about 15 years now and everyone in our home church and town has given him checks from closed checking accounts, name changes, etc. There is nothing that makes him happier than writing pretend checks to people.

Now, this is where you guys come in. I was wondering if anyone had checks that you no longer need due to changing accounts, changing your name, moving, etc. To put your mind at ease, even if the account isn't closed, we mark out the account number at the bottom of the check so that there is no question that it isn't an active check/account. In the fifteen years we've been doing this, we've never had an issue with the checks getting in the wrong hands or anything like that. He just writes them to family and friends for fun.

So, if anyone has any old checks that you no longer need, I would really appreciate your donation to helping to make my brother's Christmas great!

Any questions, please email abigailjellel@gmail.com.

Thank you so much for your consideration!
Abigail

Updates on Daniela's Mom

October 31

Hi everybody,

Thanks for all who have prayed for my mom. She got the official o.k. from her doctors to come to Chicago for the period of Nov. 5th to 30th and she is really excited!!!

Her iron level was still not good this week so that she had to get an additional blood infusion but the doctors hope that she will be fine while being here.

Both my parents will be arriving this coming Wednesday and my dad will move on to go to an international board meeting on the 11th.

Thanks again for your prayers,
Daniela

October 30

Hi all,

Here is a little update for those who have been praying for my mom.

We are very thankful that her gynecologist really pushes things that she can come to visit us (that would be next Wednesday already).

Right now the situation is as follows:
The metastases in her intestins are still borderline, but will definately get malign. That's why the doctors are planning another chemotherapy for December once she is back home. The good thing is that this chemo would not cause any loss of hair.
However my mom would have to decide before she comes over next week whether she would want to do that. As she has had so many chemotherapies already she doesn't know whether it is "worth" to go through all the pain again.

You can still pray for her iron level which is really low. She has to do another test this week and in case it turns out bad she would have to get an infusion of 34 oz. of blood.
It is not yet clear to the doctors where exactly she is loosing the blood.

She really hopes being able to come and in addition not having to see any doctors during her visit over here.

Thanks for your prayers,
Daniela
